A Brief Character History

•  Sol was born aboard the colony ship Stratospheric, a starship on a 20-year journey from Earth to Vertumna, an Earthlike planet that would, ordinarily, be well outside the reach of any terrestrial spacecraft- were it not for the existence of a wormhole providing a convenient- if risky- means of traversing the vast interstellar distances between the two. They were born ten years into the journey.
• Growing up, Sol was always plagued by night terrors and incredibly vivid dreams- of places they didn't recognize, people who were familiar and yet not, knowing things they shouldn't have and always- always- plagued by a sense that all this had happened before, somehow.
• In spite of being a very social child, they made a special effort to befriend Congruence, the ship's navigator and resident AI. This proved a very good idea, in fact, when the premonition of miscalibrated shields would have led to the disastrous destruction of a large portion of the ship- including much of the ship's growing facilities. With a rudimentary knowledge of engineering and the connection they already shared, Sol was able to convince her to help them recalibrate the ship's defenses- and save a crucial supply of Earth soil and microbes.
• Upon landing on Vertumna itself, Sol spent ten years- the most formative years of their life, really- growing up on a planet that fairly emphatically did not want humanity on it.
• At age ten, Sol's primary concern, as it should have been, was familiarizing themself with their new home, learning, and making friends. They found companionship
